On Sunday Nov 1st, the Feast of All Saints, Anthony Dodd (Tony), was invested into the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster.
The Citation as recorded in the Permanent Register of the Order:
A talented musician with a warm personality, Tony has made an important and varied contribution to the life of St Catherine’s for over 20 years. Since 2018, his main ministry has been in pastoral care but since 2000, he has served in all the major roles, on Parish Council including five years as People’s Warden and as delegate to Synod. He has been a eucharistic administrant for nearly 20 years, as well as sidesperson, greeter, and a reader. His support for worship services has been balanced with service in the wider life of the parish community, as a counter and notably as organizer and participant in the Men’s breakfast program, as a volunteer for the annual Thanksgiving dinner, as the creator of Benefit concerts given at the church by his beloved band, the Milleraires. He has been a member of the handbell choir, and in recent years has sung with Joyful Voice. Often seen at the corner of Highland and Edgemont giving pleasure to passers by in the Village with his trombone solos, in his jaunty hat ; his effervescent spirit is a welcome presence at Sunday services and his compassionate nature makes him a marvellous contributor to all those in need of pastoral care. He is a lively, generous and giving Christian pilgrim.
