On Sunday, May 19th, our community gathered to celebrate the birthday of the church with a vibrant and lively spirit of Pentecost. The event was a happy celebration with bright colors resembling fire, different languages, and a strong feeling of togetherness.Attendees were wearing red clothing and other fiery colors like orange and yellow to visually represent the fiery imagery of the Holy Spirit's presence.
One of the highlights of the event was the exchange of different languages. Some members of our congregation, each with different linguistic origins, stepped up to read Acts 2:5-8 in their native languages. It was a strong showcase of the diverse population in our community and a lovely embodiment of Pentecost's ideals of acceptance and compassion.
At the end of the service, there was a symbolic procession where the Christ Candle was solemnly carried from the altar, through the church doors, and into the world.
The Pentecost celebration extended beyond our church walls, serving as a message to the world about our dedication to embody the spirit of Pentecost daily, wherever we may be. While we look back on this unforgettable moment, we should continue to nurture the spark that has been lit in us, becoming symbols of hope, love, and unity in a world craving illumination.
