Saint Catherine's Anglican Church has been a cornerstone of our community for many decades, serving as a place of worship, fellowship, and history. As we embark on an exciting new chapter with upcoming property development plans, we have a unique opportunity to honour and preserve the rich heritage of our church.
To ensure that our heritage is accurately documented and cherished before changes are made to our church building, we have enlisted the expertise of a heritage consultancy firm, ANCE Building Services Co, Inc. They are dedicated to researching and capturing the historical essence of our church and its community. However, they cannot do this alone and need your assistance.
The firm together with the Property Development Team is kindly requesting everyone to share any old photos one may have at the church and its surroundings, especially those taken between1951 and 1962, showing the first church building designed by Fred Hollingsworth, before the current church building was constructed. However, any old photos taken on the church property of any vintage could be helpful to the research and documentation process.
If you have any such photographs even with you or your family member or friends in it, we kindly request you to send to
Marymil at
community_engagement@shaw.ca. You may also bring them to the church office if you need help in digitalizing them. Please ensure that each photograph is labeled with your name and contact information, as well as any details you can provide about the image, such as the year it was taken. The team is interested in the structure and decor of the church at the time.
We understand the sentimental value these photographs may hold and rest assured that every care will be taken to handle them with the utmost respect.
Your participation is deeply appreciated and will contribute significantly to preserving our church’s heritage.
Thank you for your time, your memories, and your ongoing support for our parish community.
