Palm Sunday - reflections on the passion

On this day, Jesus the Christ
entered the city of Jerusalem.
The people welcomed him with palms and shouts of praise, but the path before him led to self-giving, suffering, and death. Today we greet him as our King,
although we know his crown is thorns and his throne a cross.

We come to prepare for the holiest of weeks. 
We will journey through praise, with joy on our lips;
we will travel through betrayal and death, 
cradling hope deep in our hearts.
