Were you in the Upper Room that evening? Were you at the table with Jesus to share with Him that final meal?
For our Wednesday reflective Eucharist in Holy Week a number of our people gathered at this table.
The Rev. Anne Crosthwait presided at the meal then invited us to picture ourselves in that room and watch as Jesus first washed the feet of His friends then fed them.
We listened to the story; we sat in silence; we prayed and we received Communion – a piece of Bread dipped in Wine.
We imagine ourselves as a disciple, as Judas or even as Jesus. We felt the pain of betrayal and the guilt of being a betrayer.
Then, as usual, we processed our experience over a cup of tea with a few ‘extras’, cheese and fruit!
