Q: Update on the Pews
A. After a wonderful and moving service last Sunday, we said good-bye to the pews to make way for our new chairs and church growth. For some this is a sad time remembering all their own and family memories in that familiar space. For others, it is a hopeful sign of moving forward to reimagine this space used by the community in new ways that will help sustain and grow St Catherine’s. The movers have worked hard and quickly this week to dismantle all the pews in the chapel and the nave. The pews have all been dismantled and neatly stacked.
One of the photos on the news page is a timeline of the work to reconfigure the nave. The new chairs have been shipped from Ireland are expected to arrive the week of September 17th.
Church services will be held in the gym for the next three Sundays. The gym floor has recently been refinished, and looks very nice.
