"You shall love your neighbor as yourself." - Leviticus 19:18

Building and nurturing strong, resilient communities is essential for creating a better society, and one way this is achieved is through long-lasting partnerships.

Saint Catherine's Anglican Church has been in partnership with Capilano Community Service's Seniors' Hub for many years, particularly for Thanksgiving. Seniors' Hub organizes events and programs for seniors aged 55 and above that help them keep in touch with their social networks, meet new friends, remain connected with their communities, and have fun and laughter at all the activities.

For the organization to continue these services, they currently need help with driving North Shore seniors to local medical appointments and fun bus trips to the Lower Mainland, Red Cross HELP - Health Equipment Loan Program, and Family Drop-in Playgroups.

One of the Ten Commandments stated that we should love our neighbor and one of the many ways to do that is to volunteer. In essence, volunteering embodies the principle of "loving your neighbor" by actively demonstrating care, empathy, and a commitment to the well-being and happiness of those around us. It is a powerful way to put this principle into action, fostering a sense of interconnectedness and social responsibility within our communities.

Together, we can build communities that are not only resilient but also nurturing, inclusive, and thriving, leaving a legacy of unity and progress for generations to come.
