On Sunday Dec. 22 more than sixty Anglicans and Lutherans from the worshipping communities of North Vancouver came together at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for a raucous and reverent celebration. Under the leadership of our regional youth ministry co-ordinator and several teens, community members from toddlers to grand-parents (and perhaps a couple of great-grands) came together to tell the story of Jesus' birth with songs and readings from the four Gospels. There were costumes, drums, bells and laughter and when the story was told we celebrated the eucharist together Messy-Church style, in a way that was simple and inviting for participants of every age.
