Introducing Hyejung Jun to the St. Catherine's Community
We are delighted to introduce Dr. Hyejung Jun as the new Musician and Choir Director at St. Catherine’s Anglican Church! Dr. Jun brings a wealth of talent and experience to our community.
In addition to her role with us, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Choral Conducting at the University of British Columbia, where she conducts the Choral Union and teaches courses in Choral Literature, Conducting Techniques, and Private Lessons for graduate students.
Dr. Jun’s impressive career spans roles as a singer, pianist, and conductor. Her artistry has earned her numerous accolades, including winning the 2012 National Choral Conducting Competition in Seoul, South Korea. In the United States, she was a finalist in the 2017 American Choral Directors Association Graduate Conducting Competition and received the prestigious May Festival Conducting Fellowship in 2018.
She holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Emory University and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Dr. Jun is thrilled to join St. Catherine’s and looks forward to collaborating with our choir to build a vibrant and inspiring music program. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to her!
