Farewell to Sharon and Keith

On 24th June, 2018 St. Catherine's said a very fond farewell to our two interim priests who have been with us for over two years:  Rev. Keith Gilbert and Rev. Sharon Salomons.   With the arrival of our new Vicar, Sharon Smith, on 1 July, June came to a close with a farewell Service on Sunday 24 June at which Keith presided and Sharon preached.     

These two wonderful ministers have guided the parish through its transition to a new Vicar.  We could not have asked for more and better support from these experienced clergy.   

After the service there was a thank-you gathering with cards, brief speeches and coffee and cake, to express our deep appreciation to Sharon and Keith for sharing their gifts with us.   

It was very interesting to hear from Keith that Bishop Melissa had asked Keith and Sharon independently to take on this interim ministry together, but they had not met and worked together previously.  The chemistry worked.  They both brought immense talent and broad experience to St. Catherine's and we will be forever grateful for their wonderful ministry.
