A message from Bishop John:
To Lay and Clergy Leaders of the Diocese of New Westminster,
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Hebrews 13:7
Dear Friends in Christ,
I have recently learned the outcome of the episcopal election held on June 14 in the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines, companion diocese to our Diocese of New Westminster. It is with great joy and much happiness that I congratulate EDNP on the election of the Reverend Benny Lang-akan as Diocesan Bishop and I send my best wishes on behalf of myself and the diocese to Bishop-Elect Lang-akan.
We have had a wonderful relationship with the EDNP for a number of years, and I look forward to offering my congratulations via online face to face communications and to meeting the bishop-elect in person. I will be preparing a letter of congratulations to the bishop-elect and to the people of EDNP imminently.
The Reverend Benny Lang-akan was declared bishop-elect by Prime Bishop Brent Alawas after receiving the majority of votes during the 4th ballot. The Installation and Consecration are tentatively scheduled for the Feast of Holy Cross, September 14, 2022.
Alleluia! The Holy Spirit is present in EDNP.
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35
