In a dazzling display of timeless elegance and heartfelt nostalgia, Saint Catherine's Anglican Church community members gathered on November 25th at the church sanctuary to celebrate the church's 75th anniversary.  The church, known for its rich heritage and community outreach, organized a memorable evening filled with music, dancing, and fundraising.

The Dinner Dance was infused with the charm and glamour of the year 1948, the year when the church was founded. Guests, from longtime community members and friends to new acquaintances, were transported back in time with the decorations, costumes, and entertainment that were all carefully curated to evoke the era.

A slideshow highlighting Saint Catherine's all over the years was on display before the event began. The event started with blessings by the parish priest, Rev. Sharon Smith, and welcome speeches from key people of the church. The City of North Vancouver Mayor, Mike Little, also delivered an inspiring message.

After a scrumptious feast prepared by The Banqueting Table, the dance floor opened, and guests danced the night away to the tunes of The Milleaire Bands, and Jack Garton and his band that played hits from the '40s and '50s. The rhythm of the music brought people together, creating a joyful and nostalgic atmosphere.

The church anniversary celebration was not only a time for joyous festivities but also an opportunity for the community members and those who have been part of the community, to contribute towards its ministry plan and church refurbishment project called "Seize The Day Campaign". As part of the 'FUNdraising' efforts, a silent auction was also featured, with all proceeds going towards the church and the campaign.

The silent auction featured a captivating array of items generously donated by local artists, stores, and brands committed to supporting Saint Catherine's and recognizing the importance of this event's mission.

The successful 1948-themed dinner dance organized and brought to life by the community members was a testament to the dedication and sense of community that define the parishioners of Saint Catherine's Church. The atmosphere was filled with love, laughter, and a sense of celebration. The evening served as an opportunity to reflect on the rich history of the church and celebrate the contributions it has made to the surrounding community.
