Wendy Ingram, standing left; Jacquie and Jack Perkins are three of the original members of St. Catherine’s when the parish was founded in 1948. In those early years it was Jack’s job to light the stove to warm the tarpaper shack in time for the Sunday services and Jacquie, wheeling around the highlands on her bicycle, was an enthusiastic fundraiser for the fledgling parish. Wendy and her late husband Jake’s daughter, Penny was the first baby to be baptized at St. Catherine’s. Long-time worshipers at the 8 o’clock on Sundays, they recently received Holy Communion in Jack and Jacquie’s home, followed by a Bon Ton tea!
