“Occasionally a congregation asks me to consult with them during a time of conflict… whatever the situation, however different the church, one thing almost always remains the same – people want someone to blame for their troubles. The Priest, the Wardens, the Choir, the Newcomers. In the midst of conflict, however, people often fail to recognise the obvious: What if it is no one’s fault? Many changes and tensions do not arise from factors within religious communities themselves, rather they are the result of larger cultural changes”
